Undergraduate Advising

All chemistry and biochemistry majors are assigned a faculty advisor.  The faculty advisor assists students with chemistry plan of study and they serve as contact point within the department.  To officially be assigned a chemistry faculty advisor, students should stop by the Chemistry Office (CB270) and fill out forms declaring either a chemistry or biochemistry major.  Chemistry Office Staff can also help answer any questions you may have.  We also offer pre-med advising for students interested in pursuing a career in medicine.

Chemistry Office Staff can help or provide  information on any of the following:

  • Program information for prospective students/majors
  • To arrange for a visit to the department
  • Transfer student advising (including transfer course evaluation)
  • Course registration information
  • Course override requests for CHEM 434, 454, 464, 465, 474, 475 and BIOL 474, 475 only.
  • Major declaration
  • Chemistry honors program (info handout/application available)
  • Senior graduation evaluation for chemistry major or minor
