Tom Harvey Takes On New Duties In The Department As He Becomes The Instrument Specialist

The department of chemistry is happy to have Tom continue his role in the department as he becomes our new instrument specialist as of April 1, 2004. Recent students will be familiar with Tom since he has taught several of the organic and general chemistry courses here at Western since coming to Bellingham with his daughter Courtney and wife Lisa Gentile who is a biochemist on the faculty. Tom will help make sure that the instrumentation is ready for use in several of the ongoing labs - usually for the upper level chemistry courses. His background includes a BS in chemistry from North Carolina State University and his PhD at Brandeis University just outside of Boston. Tom adds a lot of energy to the department and should help boost the department's intramural sports teams with his athletic abilities.
