Bekah Mellema Joins The Department As The General Chemistry Lab Coordinator

The department of chemistry would like to welcome Bekah to the department as she joins us in January 2003 as the General Chemistry Lab Coordinator. Bekah earned her undergraduate degree from this department, graduating with honors in 2000. She earned her Master’s degree in Chemistry from California Institute of Technology in Pasadena in June 2002. She has since returned to Bellingham where she married Tyler Mellema in August of 2002. As the General Chemistry Lab Coordinator, Bekah will be involved with maintenance and support for the lab portions of general and analytical chemistry, including the upcoming new Honors series of general chemistry that will be offered. She has already brought several chemistry experiments to the deparmtent and she is making a great impact with the lab assistants and preppers.
